Mile Long Vines from Floating Gardens, Inc.

By Louise Farfell

Floating Gardens, Inc., has introduced a new vine for city dwellers that gives them a chance to emulate the beautiful vines growing out of the floating skyscrapers in Singapore. The vines are available in flower mode or fruit mode (grapes).

In some of our cities, apartment dwellers who previously complained of lack of green can now enjoy these natural wonders, and their neighbors too.

Some of the positive comments are:

“Wow, I don’t even have to buy grapes in the supermarket anymore. I can just grab a few clusters from the neighbor’s vines below. If it grows past my window, it’s mine, right?

“It’s beautiful enough to look at, but not so strong that my toddler could accidentally ascent to the heavens.”

And unfortunately, we are obligated to print some of the negative comments as well:

“It’s one thing to put pots in your own window, but to grow vines onto our walls, this is unforgiveable. We have rights.”

“I tried to open my window the other day, and the Crawley’s vines had plastered them shut!”

There is a class action lawsuit going on in Manhattan (New York City, New York, the U.S., Planet Earth) against Floating Gardens, Inc., stating its product is unconstitutional.

What are you gonna do? Sometimes, one person’s boon is another person’s headache. We hope the kinks get worked out of this idea soon, because we love seeing all that green, knowing it is adding so much needed oxygen to our much becoming beleaguered atmosphere.
