Cleopatra Resurrected & Reborn

By M.B. Alexander

Twenty-four years ago I was invited to a very unique and controversial event. In the theater hall, lit with endless hover candles and red velvet seats, we watched the resurrection of Cleopatra from DNA preserved through mummification.

The body of the infamous Cleopatra was found fifty years ago near Earth's Alexandria. Its mummified state kept her DNA fully intact. It was only a question of time and money when she would be “reborn”.

Sure enough, an entertainment company bought her DNA and created a mixed reality show following her as Cleopatra growing up in the year 2171. I'm not sure that's what the ancient Egyptians intended when they mummified her, but such is life, the future ultimately belongs to the living. Or does it?

I wondered as I watched her DNA being planted in an actual organic human (a dramatic entry for sure), what kind of person she would become?

Through the years I followed the Cleopatra show and marveled at the fairly normal child she seemed to be. But as soon she hit those teen years her DNA identity truly shined through. Pyramid eye powder and lipstick were suddenly everywhere and people were waiting in line to be her slave. Soon she became rich enough to buy back the rights to her show and she became a modern royal for all intents and purposes.

It seems that the ancient Egyptians perhaps did know what they were doing.

The new Cleopatra is a sharp fashion and entertainment mogul. Her future is looking bigger and brighter than I could have ever imagined that night in the theater.

Recently she purchased a large spacecraft and has been buying any mummified DNA she can get her hands on. Is it just me or is Cleopatra trying to resurrect the whole ancient Egyptian kingdom? Are we about to witness the second coming of the ancient Egyptian royals in space? More importantly, will Cleo be filming this?

All I can say is that I hope that the space version of them doesn’t turn out like the original. I have no intention of building a space Sphinx right now. I’m a busy person!
