Genetically Engineered Animals of Moon Zoo

By M.B. Alexander

To most of us, life on an artificial Venusian moon would seem impossible in itself. But for scientists living on Kitkat for the past fifty years, not only is life possible, it is a limitless obsession. These rebellious geneticists and bio-engineers are in the business of breaking all the cloning laws of Earth.

They’ve been creating all sorts of creatures in their lab, playing God rather casually. It seems that they’ve created everything from oceanic butterflies to hairy dolphins with monkey brains. Outside of the regulatory rings and privately funded, these bandits can create just about anything they can imagine.

Some of the very strange pets that have made it into Earth’s pet market have originated on Kitkat. The turquoise flying teacup dragon was created as a gift for one of the scientist's younger daughters. It was a DNA mesh up of a Komodo Dragon, a monkey, bluefish, a dash of human, and some parrot DNA. After a few very repetitive prototypes, who wanted crackers, an adorable teacup dragon was created. Then it was mass-produced.

But what happens when these creators of adorable creatures and huggable living teddy bears decide to venture into more taboo territories of genetic animal DNA experimentation. What if they want to create a new species of human sea moles? Or a human squid? What happens when it stops being cute?

Luckily, for now, they are still in the business of creating the adorable, which we can all visit in the most peculiar zoo in our corner of the Galaxy. Let's just hope giant kangaroo-space-whale doesn't break loose and hop on atop a human spacecraft.
